Freezing Nights
The
Freezing Nights
program began in 2004 under the leadership of several Churches and concerned citizens in Puyallup. The reality that there is no emergency shelter in the City of Puyallup led these groups to organize a volunteer program that would house individuals in local church buildings.
Freezing Nights
provides emergency shelter from November through March.
Anyone needing shelter can meet outside of the Puyallup Police Department at 7PM. Freezing Nights vans will take participants to a scheduled church location for the night. If the participant is new, there will be a background check performed for safety reasons.
Freezing Nights
cannot accept anyone who has a history of felony crimes against children or persons. Besides a meal and a warm place to stay for the night, the participants will be fed breakfast in the morning and given a boxed lunch to take when they leave the shelter.
We could use your help in the following areas:
All-night hosts
Light cleaning
Breakfast cooks
Evening meal hosts
Socializing with guests
